The Columbia River Section is a professional section of the Society of Women Engineers with members who live and work in the Portland-Vancouver metropolitan area and beyond. We are from many different disciplines of engineering but we all have one goal in common, to be the best engineers that we can be. We focus on professional development, outreach, visibility, and membership.
We are the 9th largest Professional SWE section with over 370 members in the area and had 97 new members join us in FY21 so far!
Professional Development
To encourage women engineers from diverse backgrounds to attain high levels of education and professional achievement.
Outreach
To provide programs that will educate, fund, and mentor students.
Visibility
To expand the image of the engineering profession as a positive force for improving the quality of life.
Membership/Support
To establish and maintain programs for recruiting new and retaining existing members.
