President
Carina Hahn has worked for Intel for four years as a Process Engineer and is now in an Engineering Manager role where she leads a team that is helping to develop the next generation of Intel processors. For the past four years she has been involved in the SWE Columbia River Section as the Secretary and President-Elect. In 2016 she graduated from the University of Utah with her BS and MS in Materials Science and Engineering where she served as her SWE section's Secretary for three years. Carina has enjoyed getting to know the SWE community in Portland and is excited to lead the section this year as President.

President-Elect
Brianna LaBarge is currently a Process Engineer for Nike Air Manufacturing Innovation located in Oregon. She was previously a Manufacturing Engineer for Honeywell located in Phoenix, Arizona and had gone through the Aerospace Engineering Rotational Leadership Development Program where she received numerous awards for successfully managing various projects, her spirit & teamwork, and excellent engineering support. Brianna has been a member of SWE since 2010 and has held numerous leadership positions and has presented at various Conferences for SWE and other organizations. She holds a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Central Florida, has her Six Sigma Black Belt Certification, Project Management Professional Certification, and is pursuing a Certificate in Athletic & Outdoor Product Management. Brianna lives in Portland and enjoys hiking, traveling, and working out with the Nike Training Club.

Secretary
Michaela Pain is an innovative and dedicated young professional with a passion for empowering women in engineering. She currently works as a Network Software Engineer at Intel. In 2019, she graduated from the University of Central Florida with a B.S. in Computer Engineering. Michaela has been involved with SWE since her freshman year in college. Throughout her collegiate career and into her career as a professional, she has actively worked to engage and retain females in engineering as well as create a community for them to flourish and achieve more. At UCF, she served as Section President, Secretary and Outreach Chair. Most recently, she has volunteered her time with the Professional Development pillar for the SWE Columbia River Section. She is looking forward to continuing to provide opportunities for women as Secretary of the section. Michaela’s favorite pastimes include running, throwing pottery and taking her cat on walks.

Treasurer
Jennifer (Jen) Bly currently works at Intel in Hillsboro and has been active as a professional for over 13 years and Life Member since 2012. Along with her current SWE engagement as SWE LCC Conference Lead, she has held a variety of SWE leadership and contributor roles at the section and Society levels. She is excited to return as a member of the SWE CRS Board as Treasurer and is looking forward to an exciting FY21!

VP of Professional Development
Beenish Zia is a Platform Architect in the Health and Life Sciences sector at Intel Corporation. Beenish has been in Intel for 8+ years and has worked on various engineering projects since then including technology enablement for medical imaging platforms, Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and High Performance Computing (HPC). Beenish is an electrical engineer by training and has a deep technical background in digital circuit design, CAD, hardware prototyping and system integration especially for medical imaging, HPC and AI.
Outside of work she loves to volunteer and is an enthusiastic supporter of increasing diversity in STEM fields. She is VP of professional development for Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Columbia River Section (CRS) and is a long-time career mentor. She has published her book on poems, enjoys adventurous activities & is a 2nd degree black belt in Shotokan karate. She is married to her supportive husband & has an adorable son. |
VP of Outreach
Becca recently graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and a certificate in Safety Engineering. She moved to Portland to work for Intel as a Facilities Engineer in January 2020. Becca has been involved with her collegiate SWE section since 2014. She helped recruit speakers for the 2017 Region C Conference, organized a STEM festival for Girl Scouts, and was a counselor for SWE-TAMU’s freshman retention program. During college, she also worked at a robotics camp for kids, where she was able to travel across Texas and teach robotics to visually impaired children. In her free time, Becca enjoys skiing, hiking, travelling, and cooking!

VP of Outreach
Sonali is a graduate student at Portland State University studying Electrical Engineering. Prior to being a graduate student, Sonali was working at Lam Research as a Controls Engineer and constantly learning board designs and learning about system level architecture of Lam Research Process tools that manufacture SemiConductors. At Lam Research, Sonali was a Committee member of Women in Engineering. She successfully planned and delivered Women in Engineering April 2017 Live Speaker Event, “Quantum Thinking in the Work Environment”. The event was well attended and highly praised.
Previously, Sonali Worked at Intel Corporation as an Engineering intern and transitioned into full time Engineer as Display Technical Lead. At the Society of Women Engineering, Sonali was a member since 2015. She participated in successfully moderating a five person professional engineering panel and sharing their experience with a diverse group of Engineering Professionals. In FY 20, Sonali was the Award Chair for Columbia River Section and helped SWE CRS and its members to apply for SWE Awards. Sonali enjoys working on STEM projects with K-12 students and enhances the curiosity of young minds. She is a very social and relatable person that enjoys being connected to the community. |
VP of Collegiate Relations
Anne Rocheleau works as a research scientist at medical device start-up Hemex Health. She has a BS in chemical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a PhD in biomedical engineering from Cornell University. She has been involved with SWE since 2010 and served as scholarship chair for SWE CRS in FY19-20.

Diversity & Inclusion Co-Chair
Deanna recently retired from Intel, where she was a Director and Sr. Engineering Manager with the team designing Intel Core i3/i5/i7 products. In this role Deanna also served as a Diversity & Inclusion Champion. After graduating from Portland State University with a Bachelors in Computer Engineering, Deanna joined Intel working in a variety of roles in both circuit design and design automation, and then various program manager and leadership positions. She is passionate about Diversity & Inclusion, improving the engineering pipeline for young women, and empowering women engineers to achieve their full potential. Deanna first became a member of SWE as a student at PSU. Then as a professional member of the SWE Oregon Section, Deanna was very active early in her career, working on outreach events, serving as President, and other officer positions. She was recognized by SWE as a Distinguished New Engineer in 1998. Deanna is also a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy, an all-female high school in Portland, currently serving on their BOD, hoping to connect more St. Mary’s students to careers in Engineering and STEM fields. |
