Joy Marsalla is honored to be the FY23 President of the Columbia River Section. She joined SWE as a Freshman at Arizona State University, and has served as a Board member and volunteer every year since! Joy is a connector, who defines her "why" as "creating sustainable, efficient solutions to complex problems by bridging science & the human essence to protect our planet & humankind". She is a professional environmental engineer, a LEED Green Associate and a Registered Yoga Teacher. Joy is the Head of Sustainability at LAM Research, led Chemistry & Air Emissions at Nike where she wrote these standards across the Footwear & Apparel Industry, and previously managed the environmental risk program and led environmental modeling work at Intel. This year, her goal for the SWE Columbia River Section is to build connection, trust, resilience, and to empower new leaders to step forward into a robust leadership pipeline for the section. She can't wait to meet you & help you get connected with the section!

President-Elect
Vanessa Lanas Delbridge is a Senior Environmental Engineer with over 15 years of experience in the field. At Intel, she is the Global Water Stewardship Program Manager, and leads the company's 2030 net-positive water goal. Her professional experience spans a wide variety of international government and nonprofit organizations, as well as environmental consulting companies, where she has been part of numerous environmental conservation programs. She has championed several diversity and inclusion initiatives and volunteers with non-profits that promote STEAM education amongst underrepresented and underserved communities. She currently lives in Portland, Oregon, with her husband and two young daughters.

Treasurer
Carina Hahn has worked for Intel for six years and is currently in an Engineering Manager role where she leads an organization that is helping to develop the next generation of Intel processors. For the past six years she has been involved in the SWE Columbia River Section as the Secretary, President-Elect, and President. In 2016 she graduated from the University of Utah with her BS and MS in Materials Science and Engineering where she served as her SWE section's Secretary for three years. At the society level Carina is on the Leadership Coaching Committee and is involved in the Awards Committee. Carina has enjoyed getting to know the SWE community in Portland and is excited to continue her section involvement as the Treasurer this year.

Secretary
Jennifer BlyJennifer (Jen) Bly currently works at Intel in Hillsboro and has been active as a professional for over 13 years and Life Member since 2012. Along with her current SWE engagement as SWE LCC Conference Lead, she has held a variety of SWE leadership and contributor roles at the section and Society levels. She is excited to return as a member of the SWE CRS Board as Treasurer and is looking forward to an exciting FY23!

VP of Professional Development
Moumita Dutta joined Intel in 2018. She is a Senior Integration Engineer leading several projects and initiatives contributing towards next generation of Intel chip development. She completed her PhD in 2017, Dec in Electrical Engineering with concentration in Material Science from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She has multiple patents and several journal publications. Being a woman engineer she strongly feels we need higher women representation to make the field of engineering more diverse and inclusive. She is excited being VP of Professional Development F23 and wants to take this opportunity to empower more women to excel in the field of engineering.

VP of Outreach
Currently working at the Intel Corporation as Technical Program Manager where she works closely with software engineers managers, product owners, developers, and the open-source community to get high-quality products and new features built, tested, and released on time. Prior to this, Marie Claire worked as a software development manager and senior software development engineer at Rwanda Development Board where she led the development for the government applications at the national level. She did also consult on ICT projects with UNESCO, The US embassy in Kigali, and the US mission for UNESCO.
Serving her community and providing a role model to tech-minded women is very important to Marie Claire. She is currently a Techwomen Professional Mentor (Techwomen is a US State Department program that encourages the development of emerging women leaders from Africa, Central and South Asia, and the Middle East). She also co-founded and led multiple different initiatives such as Refugee Girls Need You, Technovation Rwanda, First Global Rwanda initiatives which are making a positive impact on the lives of people in the community. Marie Claire has been nominated and received different awards such as the 2021 SWE Emerging Leader award (She is the first Rwandan ever to receive this award since its inception in 1952), She won the 2017 Change Agent Abie award, Dot Tech leadership awards... Marie Claire is PMP, Scrum Master and Java certified. She also holds a B.S. in computer engineering and information technology from the University of Rwanda College of Science and Technology and an M.S. in information technology from Carnegie Mellon University. |
VP of Collegiate Relations
Amanda JohnsonAmanda Johnson graduated from Gonzaga University in 2017 with a BS in Engineering Management (mechanical engineering). She worked for three years as a compliance engineer at SEL in Pullman, WA before moving to the Portland area in 2020 to work as a compliance engineer for SawStop. She has been involved with SWE since college and has been a leadership coach with the Leadership Coaching Committee (LCC) since 2019.

Charu NairMs. Nair had deep experience in the field of diversity, equity and inclusion as she started on this path over three decades ago, including working with companies as well as teaching graduate classes that she designed. She has travelled and worked in many places worldwide and loves sharing her insights to help our collective evolution in this space.
