President

Shruthi Thandri

Shruthi Thandri is a Process Control Engineer at BTG Group. At BTG, she and her team work to optimize and automate different processes of papermaking, through many different process automation projects. Prior to this role in consulting, she worked at Packaging Corporation of America, a paper mill in the Tri-Cities area in Eastern Washington. She grew up in Portland, OR, and later attended the University of Washington, graduating with a degree in Bioresource Science and Engineering. In her free time, she likes to cook different cuisines, bake dishes from the Great British Baking Show, and travel. Shruthi has been a member of SWE since her days at UW. Later she was a board member of the Eastern Washington SWE section while working in the Tri-Cities. In Eastern Washington, she held leadership roles such as President and Treasurer, of her section. After moving back to Portland, she joined the Columbia River SWE section and has enjoyed meeting the members and getting involved. During the last fiscal year, she served as the newsletter editor. In this role, she is excited to prioritize growing chapter membership, including corporate sponsorship, empowering young women to pursue education in STEM, and creating opportunities to develop meaningful personal and professional connections in the SWE network. Shruthi is excited to have the opportunity to lead the chapter towards these shared goals alongside women from various engineering disciplines.

Treasurer

Rebecca Lin

​Rebecca Lin is excited to serve as Treasurer this year for SWE CRS. She recently graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, working for Nike as a Materials Engineer. Her day job includes streamlining manufacturing processes, seeking sustainable practices, and bringing innovation to commercialization at scale. Outside of work, she enjoys rock climbing and experiencing visual and digital stories. At the SWE society level, Rebecca volunteers with the Awards Committee and the Mentorship Network. She hopes her work will help enable the community to connect and grow together

Secretary

Yvonne Yang

Yvonne Yang is the Director of Chrome Platform Engineering in the Client Computing Group at Intel. Yvonne has 20+ years of industry experience in the development and validation of computing hardware, spanning from consumer devices to data centers. In her current role, Yvonne is responsible for co-engineering with Google to develop a next-generation hardware reference design for Chrome products based on Intel Architecture. Yvonne is passionate about enabling others to reach their full potential in their life and career. To fulfill that passion, she dedicates time to mentoring and coaching inside/outside of Intel, speaking at events, and serving leadership roles at other Intel ERG/professional organizations. For FY224, Yvonne is serving as Secretary of SWE CRS, and Coach in SWE LCC (Leadership Coaching Committee.) Yvonne lives with her family in Beaverton, OR, and performs piano around the world when her schedule allows.

Anna Sajer

Anna is a Technology Development Module Engineer at Intel in the etch group in LTD. She graduated from the University of Utah in May 2021 with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, where she was also involved in the student chapter of SWE, AIChE, student government, ski club, and was a blog writer for HerCampus online magazine. In FY23, Anna served as the Membership Chair and Media Manager for SWE CRS. She is excited to bring her prior event planning and organizing skills to professional development this year. Anna is also very involved in the Women at Intel Network (WIN) and Women in Etch (WIE) organizations at work. Outside of work, you can find Anna on the ski slopes, writing blog articles, or playing golf.

Debarati Ray

Debarati Ray is a Sr. Engineering Manager at Collins Aerospace leading the design, development, and testing of various products including the Head-Up Guidance Systems, Enhanced Vision Systems, and innovative new display products geared toward the business, air transport, and regional jet markets. Debarati joined Collins as a co-op in August 2010 and transitioned on to become a full-time employee after her graduation in June 2011. She graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, Florida with a degree in Aerospace Engineering and continued on to get her MBA through The University of Iowa’s Professional and Managers program. In her free time, she loves to travel, ski, and volunteer at STEM-related events. Additionally, Debarati has been involved with the Society of Women Engineers, East-Central Iowa section the entirety of her professional career and had the opportunity to hold a variety of positions throughout the years: Vice-President, Membership Secretary, Marketing Secretary, Section Representative, President, and Treasurer. After moving to Portland in the summer of 2022, she has been looking for a way to get involved with SWE and the community, and her VP of outreach chair position allows her just that!

VP of Collegiate Relations

Amanda Johnson

Amanda Johnson graduated from Gonzaga University in 2017 with a BS in Engineering Management (mechanical engineering). She worked for three years as a compliance engineer at SEL in Pullman, WA before moving to the Portland area in 2020 to work as a compliance engineer for SawStop. She has been involved with SWE since college and has been a leadership coach with the Leadership Coaching Committee (LCC) since 2019. ​

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Chair

Charu Nair

Ms. Nair has deep experience in the field of diversity, equity, and inclusion as she started on this path over three decades ago, including working with companies as well as teaching graduate classes that she designed. She has travelled and worked in many places worldwide and loves sharing her insights to help our collective evolution in this space.
